At Magic Pencil, we are passionate about coloured pencil as a medium, and have the goal of supporting artists who use coloured pencil as a medium.
Magic Pencil is the New Zealand importer and distributor for the beautiful products that are designed and developed by Aloyna Nickelsen of Brush and Pencil in the United States. The products specifically support the coloured pencil painting process, which is a coloured pencil method developed by Alonya.

Whilst the products are used extensively in this method, they support and enhance the natural blending and layering strengths of coloured pencil, and can be applied with great success in the direct drawing and the under drawing methods too.
Knowing where to start with coloured pencil can be daunting. The products that support coloured pencil, and the pencils themselves, are extensive and can be expensive. Magic Pencil offers in-person private and group courses and demonstrations in Christchurch on coloured pencil and the use of the Brush and Pencil products. In addition to our courses and demonstrations, we’re constantly working on curating content about the Brush and Pencil products that we supply, but also on coloured pencil topics in general, and publishing this to our site for you to access and enjoy.
